• Robert Sorby’s Excelsior range has been designed with the connoisseur woodturner and those who regularly turn hard woods in mind. A plasma bonded titanium nitride (TiN) finish layered over traditional triple tempered high speed steel provides the perfect combination for tool longevity and edge retention.
• These are detailing tools used on between-centre work, where the grain is running parallel to the bed bars. They are used to create coves, beads and other profiles on goblets, vases and egg cups.
• These tools have a shallow flute grind unlike bowl gouges 
• Many turners prefer to turn their tool handles to their own specifications. For those turners we offer the un-handled versions of Sorby's standard turning tools. These un-handled blades are identical to the ones found on the handled versions.
• The blades listed here will also fit the Sorby Sovereign System Handles. A Collet Adapter may be required if used with the Sovereign System. Check your manual for the size collet required if, any.
